Welcome to CitySaver
Howdy! We’re so glad you’ve stopped by! We’d love to tell you all about who we are and what we’re hoping this will become. At the bottom of any of the pages here you’ll find an “About Us” link that goes into a lot more depth about how we got here and where we hope to go. The short version is that we’re a non-profit, faith-based effort to build local community, focus on local causes and bring people together. There is the CitySaver section where you will find discussion forums, live chat, you can build your own profile page, connect to “Neighbors” – and select “Close Neighbors” to connect with even more. There is a local business directory, local coupons, reviews and articles about local businesses and causes, a classified ad section and much more. And … one click away is CitySavior where we talk about how Jesus Christ preached to whole cities and how the “church” were supposed to be the experts at unity and community building and caring for neighbors.
Basically, this whole thing is an effort to be true to a letter Doug Perry wrote in 2005 called, “The Open Letter of Apology to the World.” (It’s HERE.) You see, the “church” should have been the leaders in community and caring for neighbors – not building cathedrals and breaking up into factions. We’re sorry and we want to do better. This is all an effort to give back, to call the Christians to love their neighbors (and each other) and to fix our communities that are so desperate for what WE haven’t shown them.
We hope it blesses you and your community. We really do. Let us know what you need it to do that it doesn’t yet – or what it does great. Whatever… we just want to hear from you! 🙂
